TN Students, Speak Up and Earn Cash for College

Tennessee students, grades 3-12, can apply for a $250 scholarship through SCORE. It’s part of their annual Students Rise to the Top Challenge.

But the contest offer students more than just the opportunity to earn college cash. Their website explains.

Students know first-hand that their teachers are working hard to prepare them for success after high school with learning they will use in the real world, whether going to college or career. To help others understand how this work is changing lives, SCORE is inviting Tennessee public school students in grades 3-12 to submit an original essay, song, poem, or video.

Students can focus on the following things, depending on their grade level.

  • Grades 3-5: Give a real world example of how you are using knowledge and skills you’ve learned in your classes.
  • Grades 6-8: Give a real world example of how you are using knowledge and skills you’ve learned in your science or social studies classes.
  • Grades 9-12: Give a real world example of how you are using knowledge and skills you’ve learned in your math or English classes.

The deadline for entries is Monday, Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. CDT.
