Teachers of TN: Lozie Guy

“I chose to teach because I get to intentionally equip, empower, and educate children of color that look like me and that will be the next future members of our society to further our existence. As an African-American male, I take a certain level of pride in teaching in elementary school because it is the true foundation of who they will become and I get to model what a man of accountability, integrity, tenacity, respect, and compassion is while watering those seeds with love, light, laughter and liberation.”

–Lozie Guy, fourth grade math and science teacher, Achievement School District
