Students, Design Art for the World Air Games

Enter to win state, national, and international awards! The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) has sponsored the International Aviation Art Contest for over two decades. This year students around the world between ages 6 and 17 can submit art that captures the excitement of the World Air Games.

The 2015 World Games will take place next year in Dubai. The games are the largest air sporting event in the world. Spectators will watch airplanes, gliders, hot air balloons, and airships show off their skills in the sky.

Students can submit art in a variety of mediums: watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, etc. Please see more detailed information about accepted mediums in this International Aviation Art Contest brochure.

Interested Tennessee students should submit their artwork to the Tennessee Department of Transportation – Aeronautics Division by Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.

Tennessee state winners will receive cash prizes: 1st place will earn $100, 2nd place will earn $50, and 3rd place will earn $25.

State winners will compete against their peers nationally; U.S. winners will then compete internationally.

You can find additional information about the contest online.

The 2014 theme was “Flying Saves Lives.” This art was created by Jidapa Janpathompong from Massachusetts, the 2014 U.S. 6-9 year old winner.
