Members of the Tennessee Department of Education’s Teacher Advisory Council are supporting new teachers with a day of peer-led professional learning. On Saturday, Jan. 27, they will host the East New Teacher Summit at LMU’s Cedar Bluff campus (421 Park 40 North Blvd., Knoxville) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET. This professional learning opportunity is planned specifically with new teachers in mind. Sessions are developed and led by teacher advisory council members who have been recognized in the state’s Teacher of the Year program. The summit addresses topics that appeal to all grade levels and content areas, such as classroom management. Participants who attend all sessions will receive a certificate of participation.
There is no registration fee, and lunch will be provided. Registration is open here until Jan. 22 (or until the event reaches capacity).
Interested teachers should register as soon as possible, as participation is limited. While there is no registration fee, please keep in mind that the participant or his or her district is responsible for any travel expenses including mileage or lodging.
Please note that the events for middle Tennessee and west Tennessee have passed.
