Learn How to Start a Garden at Your School

A Robertson County student dug into the garden at the Tennessee Residence earlier this spring.

First Lady Crissy Haslam is opening her doors to Tennessee teachers interested in growing their gardening skills.

The First Lady is hosting a free teacher training on the basics of garden setup on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Tennessee Residence. The event runs from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. CDT (lunch will be provided).

The training will be led by the Tennessee Residence Master Gardeners and representatives from the UT Agriculture Extension office.

If you are interested, complete this registration form and email it to Crissy.Haslam@tn.gov. The spots are limited, so reserve yours today! If you have additional questions, please reach out to the First Lady’s office at (615) 741-7846.

Teachers, you might also consider speaking with your school districts if you’re interested in getting professional development credit hours for this event.
