Attend the inaugural DiversifiED leadership conference

Tennessee Educators of Color Alliance and Tennessee State University will host the inaugural leadership conference, DiversifiED, on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the TSU Downtown Avon Williams campus in downtown Nashville. This full-day conference is free to all attendees, and lunch will be provided.

DiversifiED is open to all public school educators, pre-service educators, teacher educators, education advocacy organizations, and anyone with an interest in celebrating the importance of a diverse teacher workforce. Tennessee Teacher of the Year, Cicely Woodard, will be the keynote speaker.

There will be two breakout sessions, both in the morning and afternoon, with tracks tailored to student teachers, current teachers, coaches, administrators, and college professors. Examples for some tracks include: family engagement strategies for communities of color, restorative justice/eliminating discipline disparities for students of color, adverse childhood experiences/trauma-informed classroom practices, culturally responsive teaching/diverse texts and literacy strategies, interview preparation and other career preparation for pre-service educators, and leadership pathways within education.
