The Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation announces the 2019 Music Teachers of Excellence program designed to celebrate, honor, and invest in quality music teaching. Music Teachers of Excellence is the CMA Foundation’s commitment to the music teachers exemplifying excellence in the field. These teachers go above and beyond their role and responsibilities in the classroom and are vital to their students and communities.
Since 2015, the CMA Foundation has honored 80 music teachers and invested $450,000 to support these recipients.
The 2019 Music Teachers of Excellence application is live. Applications will be accepted through Jan. 4, 2018. This year, the Foundation will honor 30 music teachers: 10 music teachers from Metro Nashville Public Schools, 10 music teachers from across the state of Tennessee, and 10 music teachers from across the county. Recipients will receive a gift of $5,000; $2,500 to support their classroom needs and $2,500 to support personal needs. The CMA Foundation will honor recipients at an event on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Nashville, TN.
